Alexander Gladys Lucille Davenport Alexander, 90, of 448 Chestnut Street, Harrodsburg, KY died Tuesday April 8, 2003 at Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born October 31, 1912 in Mercer Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Frances Elizabeth Hifner Davenport. Gladys was the widow of James Menefee Alexander. Mrs. Alexander was a Homemaker & Horticulturist. She was a very active member of Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church for many years and the Womens Morning Circle. She was a Charter Band Booster and a Cub Scout Den Mother. . Surviving are: son: Andrew Buchanan(Patricia S.) Alexander Harrodsburg, KY son: Dr. James Givens(Mary H.) Alexander Harrodsburg, KY daughter-in-law: Sue Alexander Lexington, KY grand children: 6 , great grandchildren: 6 , Nieces: 2 , predeceased son: James M. Alexander Jr. , predeceased son: John Smith Alexander , predeceased brother: James Clay Davenport , Funeral services will be held 01:00 PM Saturday April 12, 2003 at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY, with Dr. Joe Tarry Jr. officiating. With burial following. Visitation will be at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Memorials are suggested to: Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Main St., Harrodsburg, KY 40330, or the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Linden Ave., Harrodsburg, KY 40330
