Mildred Ann Dennis Ballard, 84, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of Samuel Wallace Ballard, died Thur., Jan. 22, 2015, at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center, Harrodsburg. Born Aug. 28, 1930, in Anderson Co., she was the daughter of the late Silas Edgar and Anna Bell (Robinson) Dennis. She was a graduate of Kavanaugh High School in Anderson Co., a retired clerk for Sutherland Pharmacy, and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Mildred was a member and past Regant of the Jane McAfee Chapter of the DAR and was a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, having been named the organization's Volunteer of the Year in 2010. Survivors include: one son, Dennis Ballard, Harrodsburg; one sister, Wilma (John Burton) Ripy, Frankfort; one brother, Andrew (Emily Burks) Dennis, Harrodsburg; sister-in-law, Linda Wells Dennis, Lawrenceburg; several nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dudley and John Allen Dennis. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sun., Jan. 25, 2015, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Wayne Spivey. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visit. will be 5 - 8 PM Sat., Ransdell's. Pallbearers: Mike & Brian Dennis, John Ripy Jr., Cole Ripy, Andrew Dennis, and John Burton Ripy Sr. Honorary bearers: Jewell Ballard, Norma Dennis and Trudy Sutherland.
