James Michael Powell, 73, Harrodsburg, husband of Marilyn Kindel Powell, died Saturday April 24, 2015 at his home in Harrodsburg. Born March 11, 1942, in Kirksville, MO, he was the son of the late Smith Thompson and Opal Marie (Bishop) Powell, Jr.. He was a Christian Minister serving churches in Liberty, KY, Eden, NC, Jacksonville, NC, and at the Harrodsburg Christian Church. Jim was also a member of the American Family Therapy, National Historical Society and the Clergy and Laity Network.
Jim is survived by: his wife: Marilyn (Kindel) Powell and two sons: Michael (Karen) Powell and Chris Powell of Lexington, KY; one sister: Martha Anne Crouse of Philadelphia, PA and one brother: Smith T. Powell III of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Lauran, Luke, Brooklyn, Blake, Paxton, Hayes and Kate Powell.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on:
