Dennis Ray Voorhies, 65, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Barbara Jean Burton Voorhies, died Tuesday at his home. Born June 10, 1950, in Harrodsburg to Phyllis (Taylor) Rambo and the late Marion D. Voorhies. Dennis was a retired Maintenance Engineer and worked for several nursing facilities in the area. He also had a passion for gardening, cooking and fishing. Dennis is survived by: his wife: Barbara Jean (Burton) Voorhies, daughter: Amy Denise Wade of Junction City and son: Troy Voorhies of Danville, his mother: Phyllis Rambo of Lexington, two sisters: Regina Lynn Voorhies of Warsaw and Anna Maria (Billy) Glenn of Lexington, and one brother: Raymond Edward Claunch of Lexington, step daughter, Lisa (Mike) Brown of Harrodsburg; step son, Mark (Lee) Russell of Liberty Township, OH; step sister, Trudy Stephens of Danville, and several grandchildren. Dennis was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Elks. Visitation will be Saturday, Aug 15 from 11-1 leading to a service at 1:00 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Joe Smith.
