Robert Ross Phillips, 76, Harrodsburg, KY, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born August 16, 1939, in Johnson Co., he was the son of the late Ralph and Elsie (Mann) Phillips Sr.. Ross was a retired Field Engineer for General Electric, and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was also a licensed pilot and member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: one daughter, Jennifer (Marty) Chamberlin of Milford, OH; one son, Robert Nicholas Phillips of Lexington; three sisters, Nancy Cornish of Harrodsburg, Ruth Whyde of Greenwood, IN, and Rita Isham of Harrodsburg; three brothers, David R. Phillips of Warsaw, IN, Tom Dick Phillips and Chuck Phillips, both of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, Taylor, Nicholas Ross, and Brooke Chamberlin, of Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Phillips Jr.. Funeral services 11 AM Mon., Aug. 24, 2015, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Ryan Coatney and Lee Garrett Lance. Burial with military rites will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Sunday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Tom Dick Phillips, Bubby Isham, Larry Whyde, David R. Phillips, Butch Belcher, and Milt Marcum. Nicholas Ross Chamberlin will serve as honorary pallbearer.
