Ernest Mobley, 93, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Wilma Blanche Lay Mobley, died Thursday, September 17, 2015, at his home. Born November 14, 1921, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Dewey and Myrtle (Coker) Mobley. He was a retired maintenance dept. employee for Corning Glass, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, and an Army veteran of WWII, having received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. Other survivors include: two daughters, Brenda (Robert) Young of Comfort, TX, and Judy (Robert) Boggs of Lexington; two sons, Danny (Cathy) Mobley and David (Pam) Mobley, both of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Cornell Reynolds and Joyce Britton, both of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Minor, Garnett, Hanley, and Howard Mobley, a sister, Kathleen DeRossett, and a grandchild. Funeral services 2 PM Sat., Sept. 19, 2015, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Wayne Spivey. Burial with military rites will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 10 am - 2 pm Saturday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Michael Mobley, Matthew Riddell, Bubby Walden, Aaron Detjen, Gene Reynolds, and Larry Camic.
