Dr. Don Notter D.V.M., 80, Harrodsburg, husband of Donna Frownfelter Notter, died Sunday at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born May 1, 1935, in OH, he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Sadie M. (McMahon) Notter. Don graduated from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine and served an internship at the Woodford Veterinary Clinic, later opening his practice in Harrodsburg from 1965-1988. He then served 16 years as the State Veterinarian for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Don is survived by: his wife, Donna (Frownfelter) Notter, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Lori N. (Robert) Wimmer of Lawrenceville, GA and Jennifer N. (Paul) Deibert of Plano, TX; one son, L. Brent Notter of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Courtney W. McCracken, Morgan L. Wimmer, Hannah K. Wimmer, Katelyn M. Deibert, Sara K. Deibert, James Daniel Notter and Cory A. Hurst; one great grandchild, Callan L. McCracken. Don was preceded in death by his twin brother, Dr. Danny Notter D.V.M., and sister, Bette Hammer. A Memorial Gathering will be 5-7 PM Friday; January 15 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, leading to a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm. The family request memorials be sent to Harrodsburg Christian Church, 305 South Main Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
