Margaret S. Brooks, 89, Harrodsburg, KY, wife of George W. Brooks, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the Ft. Logan Hospital, Stanford. Born January 2, 1927, in Buffalo, KY, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Mary Conley Sparks. She was a retired nutritionist for the Mercer Co. Health Dept. and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Margaret Brooks of Parksville, KY; two sons, George L. Brooks of MD and David Brooks of TN; six sisters, Ruth Baldridge of IN, Ellen Glover of Morehead, KY, Elizabeth Chaney of Morehead, KY, Mattie Coldron of Miamisburg, KY, Bessie Cooper of Vinceburg, KY and Carlotta Banks of Morehead, KY; and three brothers:l, Jack Sparks of IN, Ora Lee Sparks of Morehead, KY and Jerry Sparks of Morehead, KY; one grandchild, George Sean Brooks. She is predeceased by two siblings, Flossie Brown and Levi Sparks, Jr.
Funeral services 2 PM Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Wayne Spivey and Robert Defoor, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Deacons & Senior Deacons of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
