Obituary of Ruby Dean Hurst

Ruby Dean Hurst, 74, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of Joe Hurst, died Friday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born May 5,1942, in Garrard County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Martin Saunders, Marshall Satterly (step father) and Mary Elizabeth (Green) Saunders Satterly. Ruby was a Hairdresser and owned and operated her shop, Ruby's Hair Illusions in Burgin for years. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was attending the Shakertown Baptist Church. Ruby is survived by: one daughter: Trava Hurst and one son: Brandon Hurst, both of Harrodsburg, six sisters: Betty (Bill) Dixon of Burgin, Lena (Doyle) Crenshaw of Lebanon, Dorothy (Steve) Kingsley of San Diego, CA, Norma (Jack) Hammons of Burgin, Stephanie (Ed) Garrett of OH and Patty (Delane) Hardin of Harrodsburg, and one brother: Buddy (Georgie) Saunders of Winchester, two granddaughters, Morgan Baker (Dustin Hurley); and Lily Beth Patterson; one great grandaughter, Ellie Hurley. Visitation will be 5-8pm Sunday; November 6 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers will be: Randy Broaddus, Scott Hammons, Josh Ryan, Tony Bailey, Dustin Hurley and Milton Hammons. Honorary Bearers will be: Ronnie Million, Don Casey, John Hawes, Jack Hammons and Steve Kingsley. Funeral service will be 1 pm Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Joe Smith.
