John A. Preston, 93, Harrodsburg, widower of Letha Sutton Preston, died Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center, Harrodsburg. Born June 26, 1923, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late John A. and Ella (Purvis) Preston. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Bohon Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons: John A. "Jack" (Linda) Preston III of Harrodsburg, KY and Frank (Connie) Preston of Parksville, KY; four grandchildren, John (Lynn) Preston, Damon (Amie) Preston, Marsha (Joey) Settles, Stacey Preston; seven great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Everett, Harold, and Kenneth Preston. Funeral services will be 1 PM Wed., Jan. 11, 2017, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa, KY. Visitation will be 10 am - 1 pm Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Jordan, Nash, and Ed Preston, Eric Baker, Toby Barlow, and Joey Settles. Honorary bearers are Freddie Herald, Garland Hoskins, Garnett Ruble, and the Men of Bohon Church of Christ.
