Virginia Carey, 96, Harrodsburg, widow of Samuel Carey, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at The Willows - Harrodsburg. Born February 8, 1921, in Mercer Co., she was the daughter of the late Vaulter and Willie (Durr) Graham. She was a retired seamstress for Palm Beach Mfg., was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Mercer Co. Senior Citizens, and the Haggin Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include: a sister-in-law, Carolyn Browning; nieces, Rosa and Jenny Carey, Rosa Browning, Lona Reynolds, and Vicki Peavler; nephews, John Humkey, Melvin Meadows, and Bruce Browning. A Celebration of Life will be held 4PM Friday, March 17, 2017, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church by Deacon Bruce Browning. Burial will in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Friday from 2PM until the hour of service. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.ransderllfuneralchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to the St. Andrew Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
