Obituary of Robert Nelson Monson

Robert Nelson Monson, 84, Harrodsburg, widower of Leona Pucket Monson, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.  Born December 24, 1932, in Clark Co., he was the son of the late David Allen and Florence (Birch) Monson.

He was a retired Final Assembly Adjuster for IBM, a Navy veteran of the the Korean War and a US Navy Reservist. Robert was also a former member of the Lexington Bowling Assoc. and the Clark Co. FFA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Madene (Pete) Fisher of Lexington; two sons, Joe (Denise) Monson and Keith (Rita) Monson, both of Burgin; five grandchildren, Shannon Wilson, Leann Turner, Keri Puckett, Lindsey & Brian Monson; one great grandchild, Baleigh Turner.

Funeral services 11 AM Friday, Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Greg Warren. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY, with Military Honors. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Thursday, Ransdell's.

Pallbearers are Paul Travis Wilson, Keith Gray, Brad Robinson, Adam Turner, Doug Sanders, and Clyde Matherly. Honorary bearers are Rick Underwood, Cecil Webb and Lorne Patterson.
