Obituary of Allan Douglas Oakland
Allan Douglas Oakland, 77, Harrodsburg, KY, widower of Rita Ann (Castrogiovanni) Oakland, died Friday at the home of his son in Harrodsburg, KY. Allan was born December 12,1939, in East Meadow, NY, to the late Wallace and Mildred (Sparnecht) Oakland. He served in the Navy and retired as owner and operator of his own fence contracting business.
He is survived by: a daughter: Carol (Jeff) Gonshak of Lakegrove, NY; a son: Allan Douglas (Laura) Oakland Jr., of Harrodsburg, KY; one brother: Roger (Colleen) Oakland of SC, and four grandchildren.
Visitation, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM Thursday August 31, with the Funeral Service at 8 PM Thursdayat the St. James Funeral Home. Interment will be Friday September 1, 2017 11:15 AM Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
