Obituary of Donald Gene Burns

Donald Gene Burns, 57, of 116 Mercer Avenue, died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born December 17, 1945 in Mercer County, he was the son of Kenneth Burns of Harrodsburg and the late Viola Pauline Morris Burns. He was a machinist for Hitachi and was a retired Lexmark employee. He was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church and Mercer Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM. He was an air force veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include: his wife, Colleen Burns, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Angelia (Kevin) Dawn Stewart, Bowling Green; two sisters, Joyce Carol Logue and Reva Gale Spalding, both of Harrodsburg; and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Ransdell Funeral chapel with Lewis Walter and Bobby Logue officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the chapel from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, and after 7:30 am. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Travis Logue, Marshall Sims Jr., Steve Bechtel, Lee Claunch, Bo Bottoms, Kenny Bottoms, Andy Langham and Terry Baker. Honorary bearers will be Bill Bottoms, Terry Myers, Hitachi machine operators. And Deacon and Yoke fellows of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
