RODNEY HARRIS Rodney Harris, 56, of 1450 Mackville Road, died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at his residence. Born August 15, 1946 in Nolandsburg, he was the son of the late Joseph Roy and Hannah M. Metcalf Harris. He was a retired machine operator for Corning Glass, was a member of the Bluegrass Pike Baptist Church in Boyle County, and the Flint Glass Workers Union. He was an army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include: his wife, Gloria Harris, Harrodsburg; one son, John Calvin(Lori) Harris, Danville; four brothers, Paul R.(Barbara) Harris, Abingdon, VA, Joe R. (Betty) Harris, Winchester, Clinton R. (Judy) Harris, and Edgar Roland Harris, both of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Virginia (Arthur) Hibbard, Springfield, OH, and Nawana (Dale) Durham, Harrodsburg; two granddaughters, Lindsey Taylor Harris and Courtney Laine Carpenter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 .am. Wednesday, June 18, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Tim Russ officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the chapel from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be David Hibbard, Terry Riley, Mark and Mike Durham, Dwain Harris and Steven DeVary. Honorary bearers will be Brian Hibbard, Wesley Phillips, Raymond Isham, Mike Humphrey, Harold Lester, Lynn Logue, Johnny Winchester, Leland Vanoy and Richard Lewis. Memorials are suggested to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (Research), Woodholme Medical Building, Suite 515, 1838 Greene Tree Road, Baltimore, MD 21208.
