Geraldine A. “Jeri” Rogers, 95, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of George Rogers Sr., died Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Willows at Harrodsburg. Born July 31, 1926, in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nellie (Fish) Harris. Jeri’s husband was part of the original team that moved from Corning, NY, to start the new Corning factory in Harrodsburg. She was a homemaker, member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church, and had served as a Leader for the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Jeri was very athletic and participated in bowling leagues, and her favorite sport was golf. She played bare-footed, and was a near scratch player and was champion of Bright Leaf Golf Course many times. She was also an excellent bridge player and still played up to the time of her death. Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia "Pat" (Carroll) Perkins of Harrodsburg; one son, George (My) Rogers Jr. of Harrodsburg; one brother, LeRoy Harris of Corning, NY; three grandchildren, Linda (Wayne) Jackson, Melissa (Billy) Votaw, Lee Anne (Scott) Brogle, all of Harrodsburg, KY; eight great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be 11 AM, Wed., Sept. 29, 2021, at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Memorials are suggested to: Heritage Hospice, P.O. Box 1213, Danville, KY 40422.
