Ruth P. Freeman, 93, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of G. B. Freeman, died Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Lexington. Born Feb. 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Jordan Lyons and Cammie Lee (Gabhart) Preston. She was a retired Butte Knit employee, had worked at Crickiteer Mfg., and then worked for twenty years at the Mercer Co. Extension Services. Ruth was a longtime member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, where she was a a member of the Goodwill Sunday School Class and the Friendship Circle. She was a graduate of Salvisa High School, and she enjoyed sewing and all things hand-work. Survivors include: a daughter, Pam Rickerson, Lexington; a grandson, Rhys Freeman Rickerson, Lexington; a niece, Joyce (Joe) Chowning, Berea; a brother-in-law, Bill Brinkley, Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Brinkley. Funeral services will be 1 PM, Sat., April 16, 2022, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Don Chase and Micki McHugh. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10 AM until 1 PM, Sat., Ransdell’s. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Assoc., the Harrodsburg Christian Church, or to the Salvisa Christian Church. Pallbearers are Lee Gentry, Danny Chilton, Smith Perkins, Jerry Sampson, Troy Peavler, David Leo and Kenny Wade. Honorary bearers are Donna Mayes, Cindy Royalty, Carolyn Royalty, Gene Lawson, and members of the Goodwill Sunday School Class and the Friendship Circle.
