Noman Donald Heckel, age 74, of Salvisa died Monday, September 16, 2024 at home in Salvisa KY. Born August 2, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Donald and Ruth (Filby) Heckel. He was a retired carrier for United States Postal Service and United States Army Veteran. Norman was rewarded metals, badges and campaign ribbons through his honorable discharge such as National Defense Service Medal, 1st Class (Grenade), Marksman (M-16 Rifle) & Expert (M-16 Rifle). Norman enjoyed being a handyman of all sorts, woodworking and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.
He is survived by one daughter: Christie (Arthur) Hellwig of PA and one son: Trevor Heckel of Salvisa, KY; one brother: Jeffrey Heckel of Dandridge, TN; three grandchildren; Zachary Heckel, Chase Hellwig and Cole Hellwig.
There are no services at this time. Norman will return to Baltimore, Maryland and will be interned with his parents Donald and Ruth Heckel at a later date.
