Hettie Bruce Logue, 97, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her home on the morning of December 20, 2024. Born on March 4, 1927 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Za Thomas and Nellie Bottoms Lester. On July 1, 1947, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Logue who preceded her in death on April 29, 1993.
Hettie loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed sight seeing, telling stories, working puzzles, cooking, reading her Bible, and sitting in the swing in the back yard. She was also a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. To know Hettie was to love her and anyone that knew her did just that. She was never afraid to tell you how she felt about anything and being the boss of her family was her favorite job.
Hettie was the proud mother of Rita Kay Hendren and Tommy (Lois) Logue. She was known as“Nanny” to 4 grandchildren, Tricia (Brent) DeHart, Randy (Springe) Bugg , Lori (Rich) Cary, Dale (Chrissy) Logue to 9 great grandchildren Kaylee (Trent) Mueller, Blake Russell, Colton (Brittany) Cary, Clayton (Tess) Cary, Catie Cary, Elin Logue, Treyci (Brody) Votaw-Sallee, Ashlee Brewer, Brendan Coleman and to 5 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers: R.C.Lester and Z.T. Lester and three sisters: Loretta Baker, Marsola Baker and Jewell Huffman Henniger.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Todd and Terry Lester officiating. Burial next to her husband will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 AM until 2:30 PM, Monday, Ransdell’s.
Pallbearers are: Randy Bugg, Dale Logue, Rich Cary, Brent DeHart, Blake Russell, Colton Cary, Randy Baker, and Ronnie Huffman. Honorary bearers are: Kaylee Mueller, Catie Cary, Jerry Lester, Tim Lester, Treyci Votaw-Sallee, Ashlee Brewer, Brendan Coleman, Kelli Morgan, Phyllis Long, Debbie Knight, and E. Lin Logue.
