Ava Jewell was always smiling and happy to see us at church or out in public. She enjoy d her church family at Calvary.

My mother, Edna Robinson - Kays, was Ava Jewel 1st cousin. Bit of background here, dad ,Bobby Kay's, relocated family to Ohio, where he could finally find employment to support his growing family. Every year we spent one week in Kentucky, and a forever memory I will treasure visits to Willie B and Ava Jewel home. The laughter and love of those visits a joy. Visits continued when I had my children. My girls loved all her 'set pretties' as I called them, Ava Jewel never worried them looking at her collections. They would look, not touch. I think Ava Jewel got a kick out of the girls. She and mom would talk about ' good old day's '. As my girls got older, I made the trips with mom and my sister Cheryl. Ava Jewel and Willie B enjoyed going out to eat,always took us to The Cloud in Harrodsburg. She loved to go out. Always dressed to perfection, she'd get a call " Ava Jewel do you want to.... Before caller finished she'd said " Why yes I'd love to go out" I will treasure memories of Cornishville,Harrodsburg, Ava Jewel and Willie B. Joy to know they are walking all over heaven together.
