Dora “Dodie” Shewmaker, age 91, widow of Robert Lee Shewmaker, of Danville died Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at home. Born September 6, 1933 in Concord, TN, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Viola (Collins) Manuel. Dora was a retired school bus driver for Mercer Co. School Systems and was a member of Salvisa Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son: Ronald Shewmaker of Harrodsburg, KY; six grandchildren; Bo (Jessica) Shewmaker, Teresa (Scott) Parrish, John (Tonja) Knight, Cyndi (Lewis) Blevins, Zach (Stacy) Shewmaker and Stephanie (Shane) Franklin; eighteen Great Grandchildren: Cade, Coby, Haley, Heather, Jayme, Timothy, Caitlin, Shawn, Gemma, Lucia, Heath, Payton, Kora, Hunter, Jacob, Lexi, Hayden and Ella.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Shewmaker, Son, Robert Lee Shewmaker Jr., and Daughter, Linda Cushion.
Funeral services will be 1pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington Street, Harrodsburg, KY with Jonathan Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm Friday February 28, 2025, Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: BJ Shewmaker, Zack Shewmaker, Shane Franklin, Scottie Parrish, John Knight, Heath Shewmaker, Hunter Shewmaker, Hayden Gifford, Cade Cleveland and Coby Cleveland. Honorary Pallbearers: Ray Reichenbach, Linda Riney and All of Dora's Caregivers.
