Larry R. Peyton, age 74, of Salvisa, KY, husband of Jan Britton Peyton, died Monday, April 21, 2025, at Baptist Health of Lexington. Larry was born March 9, 1951 in Harrodsburg, KY to Eunice Ransdell Peyton, Mercer Co., and the late Raymond Denton “R.D.” Peyton.

He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the Harrodsburg Independent School District and was a member of the Bohon Church of Christ. Larry was a Dairy Farmer for 20 years, served as Mercer Co. 3rd District Magistrate for 16 years, was a former City of Harrodsburg Street Supervisor, was Owner & Operator of Peyton Guernsey Farm for 20 years, and had a passion for breeding and showing Guernsey Cattle for many years.

Survivors include: his wife, Jan Peyton, Salvisa; two daughters, Jill (Scott) Downey of Bardstown, KY and Julie (Gary "Tickie") Popplewell of Mercer Co.; his mother Eunice (Ransdell) Peyton; one sister, Sharon (Jon) Clark of Mercer Co.; two brothers, Steve (Jeanette) Peyton and Ricky Peyton, both of Mercer Co.; five grandchildren, Madison & Mallory Terrell, Molly & Megan Shewmaker, and Tripp Popplewell.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY with Terry Morrison, John Moore, and Frank Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa, KY.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 24th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Friday, April 25th from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Moon, Jim and Jeremey White, Bobby Elliott, Winston Preston, and John Todd Warren.
