Gerald B. Sheperson, age 80, of Harrodsburg, husband of Linda Hazelwood Sheperson, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home in Harrodsburg. Born August 5, 1944 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Lelia (Burns) Sheperson.
He was retired from IBM Inc. Information Technology employee and was a member of The Carpenter’s Christian Church. Gerald was longtime North Mercer Water District Member and Commissioner, a former Mercer Co. Judge Executive, avid gardener, a skilled woodworker, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He cherished his family friends, and church community, and was a longtime U of L Sports fan.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Sheperson; one daughter, Libby (Mac) Mayes of Harrodsburg, KY; one son, Scott (Danielle) Sheperson of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister, Vena Preston of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Seth Mayes, Caelan (Jamie) Mayes, Noah (Kaitlyn) Sheperson, Michael (Sheyanne) Sheperson, and Andrew Sheperson; seven great grandchildren, Carson Mayes, Sadie, Kasen, & Kade Sheperson, Kinsley & Caleb Bustle, and a pending great grandchild, Adalyn Lou Sheperson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lee, Vincent, & Connie Gene Sheperson.
Funeral services will be 7:30 pm, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at The Carpenter's Christian Church, 1340 U.S. 127 Bypass, Harrodsburg, KY with John Kesel and John David Lane officiating. A graveside service with burial will be held 6:30 pm, Friday, May 9th, at Kirkwood Cemetery, 1955 Kirkwood Road, Salvisa, KY, with Greg Warren officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM at The Carpenter's Christian Church.
Pallbearers: Seth & Caelan Mayes, Noah, Michael, Andrew, & Mike Sheperson. Honorary bearers: Wayne Cinnamon, Brent, Alan, Mark, Howard L., & Charles Hazelwood, Steve Gash and Jim Burns.
