Lois Jane Wheeler Obituary

Lois Jane Catlett Wheeler, 93, wife of James Wheeler for almost 72 years, died Thursday, August 28, 2025, at The Willows at Harrodsburg. Born October 16, 1931, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William and Myra Kinmon Catlett. Lois was a retired secretary for the Mercer County Schools and a long time member of the Bethel #1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church and most recently attended the Harrodsburg Christian Church. She played the organ at Bethel for many years and taught Sunday School. In addition to her music, she enjoyed traveling; she and James have visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. She also loved volunteering at the hospital and being with her family.


In addition to her husband James Wheeler, she is survived by: two daughters: Kim Davis (Bob) of Harrodsburg, KY and Jayne Wheeler (Steve) of Independence, KY, a son: Steve Wheeler (Tracy) of Mason, OH; she also has six grandchildren: Colby Davis (Brandy); Will Davis (Carolann); Sheldon Wheeler; Jared Wheeler (Rebecca); Cassidy Kastensmidt (Trent) and Max Smith; Great Grandchildren, Lucy Davis, Luke Davis, Kingston Davis, Everly Davis and coming soon: Kohen Kastensmidt, Niece & Nephew, Vicky Moore & David Wheeler. Lois was preceded in death by her sister and brother in law; Betty and George Wheeler.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday; September 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, conducted by Micki McHugh. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 11 am - 1 pm.


Pallbearers will be: Colby Davis, Will Davis, Sheldon Wheeler, Jared Wheeler, Max Smith and Nicholas Moore.
