Eldorse Currens, 90, widower of Doris Sheperson Currens, of Harrodsburg, KY, died Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Harrodsburg Health and Rehab Center, Harrodsburg. Born September 16, 1935, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James and Beulah (Merryman) Currens. Eldorse was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church, he loved showing register animals, no matter the breed. He was a farmer and also worked for Moorman Feed, and drove a gas truck for Southern States, he and his son Tommy also built barns and houses. Eldorse just liked to work.
Survivors include: daughter: Cathy Estes (Fiancée; John E. Doyle) of Harrodsburg, KY and a son: Gil Thomas "Tommy" Currens (Tammy) of Lawrenceburg, KY; a sister: Louise "Pud" Smock of Harrodsburg, KY, two brothers: Jimmy Currens (Margaret) of Harrodsburg, KY and Lee Currens (Shirley) of Williamson, SC, Grand Children, Lauren & Gracen Redding and Ancel & Niki Abidie. Eldorse was preceded in death by six siblings: John, Louis and Jake Currens, Flossie Renner, Gladys Lewis and Bernice Carr.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday; Oct 22 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, By John David Lane and Jesse Currens. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY and prior to the service on Wednesday.
Pallbearers: Tommy and Tammy Currens, Cathy Estes and John Doyle, Terry Currens, Keith Currens, Jesse Currens, Kevin Currens, Brian Lee Sheperson, Dale Sheperson, Kenny Wise, A.J. Sears, David Smock. Jeff Currens and all the Cousins are to be Honorary Bearers.
