Woodie J. Peavler Obituary

Woodie Jean Peavler, 85, widower of James Morris "Redbird" Peavler, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at her home in Harrodsburg, KY. Born September 23, 1940, in Franklin, TN, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and the late Nancy Ruth (Smith) Wilson. She was a Cosmetologist and hair dresser for Woodies at the Campbell House. Woodie was a very active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall of Harrodsburg.


Survivors include one son: James Richard "Rick" Hartman (Christy Russell) of Springfield, KY; three grandchildren: Jaime Greenleaf (Aaron), Adam Jacob Hartman (Anna), Benjamin Maurice Hartman (Kelly Horn); eight great grandchildren: Macy & Tucker Greenleaf, Jase, Mark, Emily, Lilly, Scout & Nora Jo Hartman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Maurice Leon Wilson.


A Memorial Service to Celebrate her life will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY.
