Robert Earl Gilliland, widower of Juanita Claunch Gilliland, Harrodsburg, KY, died Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital, Harrodsburg. Born September 18, 1928 in Akron, OH; he was the son of the late John Earl and Hazel Mary (Trusley) Gilliland. Robert was a car dealer, truck driver and was owner of Nevada Auto Sales Inc. He was a member of the Benton Baptist Church, was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing on the softball league as well as fast-pitch softball.

Survivors include: son: Mickey J. Gilliland of Harrodsburg, KY, he also has three granddaughters: Tracie Gilliland of Harrodsburg, KY, Meredith Bruner (Aaron) and Blythe Gayheart (Jason); five great-grandchildren: Lindsay Carter (Elliott), Lauren Prather (Jon), Hannah Sizemore, Hunter Gayheart and Avery Gayheart; and six great great grandchildren: Hallie Carter, Hayzlie Carter, Brooks Carter, Aubrey Prather, Miley Prather and Preston Prather.

Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday; November 24 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Funeral services will be conducted by Monty Carney and Doug Wesley, 11 Am Tuesday; November 25. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers: Bill Elliott, Pete Elliott, Aaron Bruner, Jason Gayheart, Elliott Carter, Jon Prather, Stevie Elliott and Hunter Gayheart. Honorary Bearers will be: Ronnie Best, Scott Armstrong, Kerry Keebortz, Richard Hudson, Darrin Sims and Mike Turner.
