Doris W. “Moe” Knox, 86, widow of R.D. Knox, Harrodsburg, KY, died Friday, November 21, 2025, at her home. Born September 29, 1939, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late William O. "Buck" and Ailene (Bussell) Whalen. Doris retired as a World Trade Representative for IBM, she was a member of the Hebron Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Salvisa. She was cheerleader for Athens High School and was an avid UK Basketball fan. Doris was also the Longaberger Basket Lady.
Survivors include: one son, Gary Dixon (Wanda) of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister, Jo Evans of Harrodsburg, KY; two grandchildren, Sarah Elam (Callee) and Matt Dixon (Olivia); three great-grandchildren, Avery Dixon, Zhane Patrick Elam and William Jessie Lee Elam. She was preceded in death by a sister; Bobbie Jean “Sissy” Lindsey and a brother; William O. “Wimpy” Whalen.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Monday; December 1, 2025, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Funeral services will be conducted11 am Tuesday; December 2 by George Dye and Dallas Daniels at the Hebron Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Salvisa, KY. Graveside services will be 1pm Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Knox-Tipton Cemetery, Stanton, KY.
