Richard D. “Dick” Cheak, age 83, of Burgin, KY, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Thomson-Hood Veteran’s Center of Wilmore, KY. Dick was born June 6, 1942 in Burgin, KY, to the late William H. and Vonie Mae (Yocum) Cheak. He was a retired IBM-Lexmark employee, was a US Army Veteran, and member of Burgin Baptist Church. Dick was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include: a brother, Robert “Bob” (Annette) Cheak of Burgin, KY; several nieces and nephews; and special appreciation for niece, Gina Johns and her care.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Watts, and four brothers, Billy, Melvin, Tom, and David Cheak.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY with by Bro. Bob Cheak and Chaplain Phil Majcher officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Visitation is 11 AM until 1 PM, Wednesday, December 3rd, Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers are: Troy and William Cheak, Jerry and Jeremy Thacker, Seth Sheene, Justis Mitchell, Stanley "Peanut" Riney, Brent Jennings, and Keith Monson
