Melissa Carroll Votaw Obituary

Melissa Carroll Votaw, age 51, wife of Billy Votaw, of Harrodsburg died Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at home in Harrodsburg Ky surrounded by family. Born May 11, 1974 in Harrodsburg, KY, to Carroll and Pat (Rogers) Perkins. She was raised in the St. Philips Episcopal Church, worked for Essence Auctions and was a childcare provider. Melissa loved sitting by the pool on hot summer days, taking walks, shopping, traveling to Tennessee, talking on the phone with her mom and all her friends, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.


She is survived by her husband: Billy Votaw, three daughters: Tara Weissrock, Chelsea (Eric) Craycraft and Brittany (Robert) Wilkinson, and three sons: Trevor (Allison) Weissrock, Billy (Jaimee Creighon) Votaw III and Blake Votaw; her father Carroll and mother Pat Perkins; one sister: Lee (Scott) Brogle; five grandchildren: Xavier, Marci, Bentlee, Uriah and Lennox; six nephews; Slade, Dugan, Roy, James, Timmy and Mikey; one niece, Megan; two special friend’s; Melissa Jackson and Jill Downey.


She is preceded in death by her nieces, Leeanna, Kyle Faith and Annalee Scott Brogle.


Visitation will be Friday January 16, 2026 from 5pm-8pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington Street, Harrodsburg KY 40330. Burial with a committal service will be 2pm Friday; January 23, at the Danville Memorial Gardens with Jim Winburn and Sylvia Noreen officiating.
