Mamie Carmickle, age 86, of Frankfort died Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Bradford Square Health Care Center of Frankfort, KY. Born May 20, 1939 in Lawrenceburg, KY, to late John Morton and Myrtle Davis "Mertie" (Wilson) Stratton. Mamie worked in factories for many years, but in the more recent years became a House Parent at the Stewart Home School.

She is survived by two daughters: Jackie Brock of Harrodsburg, KY and Laura Bassham of TN, one son: Donald "Wayne" (Sandy) Carmickle of Burgin, KY; six grandchildren: Jake (Melissa) Bryd, Stacy (Ben) Sharp, Jessica Carmickle, Jaelan, Grant and Garrett Bassham; eight great grandchildren; Kelsey (River) Life, Brady Sharp, Miracle Maria Spencer, C.J. Spencer, Wyatt Byrd, Ethan Byrd, Daniel Byrd and Heather Byrd; and 3 siblings and daughter in law Teresa Carmickle.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Mertie Stratton and 10 Siblings.
