JR Baker Obituary

Harold Baker, Jr., or just JR Baker, 74, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Versia (Morris) Baker, died Monday, January 26, 2026, at the V. A. Medical Center in Lexington. Born May 29, 1951, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Harold Cecil and Pearl (Gardener) Baker. Jr., was an Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith. JR owned a body shop for many years and was an avid hunter, a member of the National Men’s Turkey Federation and was also an officer for the Raptors Motorcycle Club of which he has been a member for fourteen years..


Survivors include: his wife: Versia Baker; a daughter: Misty Dawn (William Lee) Anderson and a son: Christopher (Penny) Baker; one sister: Patsy (Danny) Bugg; he also has three grandchildren: Harold Austin (Sydney) Sanders; Charlie Anderson; and Kristina Nicole (Nicholas) Baker-Khayat and three great-grandchildren: Malory Jennings, Bella Khayat and Gracie Kyayat; two Nephews, Michael Wayne (Becky) Baker and Gary Lynn (Maritta) Baker, Several Great Nieces & Nephews. Jr., was preceded in death by a grandson: Tristan Yeager, a niece: Tina Marie Moore and a brother: Bobby Lee, Baker.


Funeral services will be Friday; February 6 at 1 PM, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, conducted by Gary Baker. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Thursday February 5 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.


Pallbearers: will be Members of the Raptors Motorcycle Club and Grand & Great Grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.


Memorials are suggested to the family to assist with financial obligations.
