Virginia Hale, age 85, widow of Robert Earl Hale, of Harrodsburg KY , died Thursday, January 29, 2026 at home in Danville KY. Born June 2, 1940 in Casey County KY, to the late Forest and the Mary Mae (Passmore) Brown. She was a homemaker and grew up attending Maxey Valley Church of God. Virginia spent her whole life raising her eight children and she loved every minute of it; she enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, cooking, sewing, making quilts for all of her grandchildren, shopping and having lunch dates with her sisters and daughters and she also had a green thumb.
She is survived by three daughters: Becky (Ken) Helton of Harrodsburg, KY, Gayle (Bret) Gavin of Dry Ridge, KY and Lisa Brown of Danville, KY, two sons: Rick (Debbie) Hale of Danville, KY and David Hale of Newburgh, IN; one sister: Jeanie Young; fifteen grandchildren; Jonathan, Shelby, Lee, Levi, Luke, Kristian, Jordan, Paige, Kayla, Jennifer, Sherry H., Robert III, Tasha, Blake and Sherry V.; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Sons, Robert Hale Jr. and Greg Hale, Daughter, Donna Hale Rice, Brothers, Hubert Brown, Dewey Brown, Jerry Brown and Lewis Brown, Sisters, Pauline Hale, Evelyn Stokes and Zilpha Singleton, and Grandson, Anthony Rice.
The funeral will be 1pm on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington Street, Harrodsburg, KY with Bro. John McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg KY on Monday, February 2, 2026. Visitation will be Sunday February 1,2026 from 5pm-8pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
