Jewell Ballard, age 101, of Harrodsburg, KY, widow of Harold Ballard, died Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Harrodsburg. Jewell was born November 29, 1924 in Boyle Co., KY. She is the daughter of the late Dence Edwards and Victoria (Upton) Evans. She was homemaker and member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church [Glad Hand SS Class], but had attended Ellers Memorial Baptist Church in recent years. Jewell was a former state high school track finalist and enjoyed golfing.

Survivors include: a daughter, Peggy (Eddie) Long, and two sons, David (Rita) Ballard and Charles (Debby) Ballard, all of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, Karen (Rob) Larmour, Kathy (H.T.) Logue, Tammy (Todd) Gilkison, Keith (Heike) Ballard, Lora (Travis) Lanham, Kipp Ballard, and Sarah (Justin) Cheatham; eighteen great grandchildren; twenty-seven great great grandchildren.

Jewell was preceded in death by a brother, J.T Evans, a grandchild, Kim Hungate, and a great great grandchild, Aiden Hungate.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY, with Rick Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15th from 11 AM until 2 PM, Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers are Keith and Kipp Ballard, Todd Gilkison, Travis Lanham, H.T. Logue, Rob Lamour, and Justin Cheatham. Honorary bearers are members of the Glad Hands SS Class at Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
