Shirley Hardin, age 78, of Harrodsburg, KY, widow of John Wesley Hardin Sr., died Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital of Lexington, KY. Shirley was born February 12, 1948 in Jackson, KY. She is the daughter of the late Everett and Ruby (Carroll) Johnson.

She was a retired auditor for the Social Security Administration, and was a member of the Shakertown Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed shopping Goodwill, quilting, baking and making desserts, and time with her family.

She is survived by one son: John Wesley "Wes" Hardin Jr. of Harrodsburg, KY; sisters: Edith Miller of OHIO, Barbara (Rudy) Martin of OH, Wanda (Charles) Anderson of OH, Helen Meier of OH, Brenda Haycox of OH, Carolyn (Dean) Anderson of OK, Hazel Johnson of OH and Debra Back of KY, and four brothers: Elmer (Diane) Johnson of OH, Larry Johnson of KY, Jerry (Cindy) Johnson of KY and Roger (Sue) Johnson of KY; grandchildren, Dakota Hardin, Heather LeeAnn Bowman, Cheyenne Hardin, and Shirley Ann Trent; great grandchildren, Jadden McKenzie & Maggie Marie Benham.

Shirley was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa O’Quinn, and a granddaughter, Ashley Marie Benham.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY with Joe Smith officiating

Visitation will be Saturday, May 30 from 11AM - 1PM, Ransdell’s, Harrodsburg, KY.
