Rose “Carolyn” Prewitt, age 92, widow of John “Johnnie” H. Prewitt, of Stanford KY, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Stanford Crossing. Born October 22, 1933, in Mackville, KY to the late Owen J. and Thenia (Taylor) Bottom. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Stanford KY, a former member in the church choir and a Sunday School teacher, she had several poems published as well. Carolyn worked for Corning for many years; she loved her pets, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters: Kathy (Ricky) Carey of Stanford, KY, Nancy (Dave) Carter of Columbus, OH and Ann Prewitt of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Pawley, Ryan McGeorge and Matthew (Danielle) Garrison; five great grandchildren Sawyer & Jackson Pawley, Mia & Cayna Garrison and Xander McGeorge; seven step grandchildren, seventeen step great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren; and one nephew Billy Joe Bottoms.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Billy Bottoms.

The funeral will be held at 1pm Tuesday June 23, 2026, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY with Brad King and Charlie Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg KY. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm Tuesday June 23, 2026, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel leading up to the service that starts at 1pm.

Pallbearers will be Ryan McGeorge, Matthew Garrison, David Carter, Jeremy Pawley, Tim White and Billy Joe Bottoms. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Pawley, Sawyer Pawley, Ricky Carey, Jordan Bottoms, Dr. Brian Ellis, Billy Moberly, Johnny Kolasa and all grandchildren and great grandchildren.
