John Robert Helm, age 76, of Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Rosemary Bunnell Helm, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. John was born May 12, 1950 in Russell Springs, KY, to the late James Henry and Hazel Lowvenia (Defeet) Helm.

He was a retired KY Utilities EWB Plant 40 year employee. He was also a member of the Burgin Christian church where he had served as Deacon. John loved traveling, watching UK Basketball and Football, NASCAR, and time with his granddaughter.

Survivors include: his wife, Rosemary (Bunnell) Helm; one daughter, Wendy Helm (Leon) Benham of Harrodsburg, KY; one son, Johnathan Michael Helm of Louisville, KY; two brothers, James Henry (Teresa) Helm Sr. of Richmond, KY and Roger Dean (LuAnn) Helm of Lexington, KY; one grandchild, Lily Rose Marie Benham; Sister In Law, Betty Steele of MI; Sister In Law, Tina Prather of Harrodsburg, KY; 27 Neices and Nephews; 24 Great Neices and Nephews; 14 Great Great Nieces and Nephews.

Predeceased by his Sister, Susan Helm Young, Brother In Law, Jim Miller, Sister In Law, Anne Miller, and Brother In Law, Don Steele.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm, Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington Street, Harrodsburg, KY with John Powell officiating. Burial will be held later in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY.

Visitation will be Monday, July 27 from 1 pm until 3 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY.
