Henry L. James, age 93, Harrodsburg, widower of Juanita Scott James, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born November 10, 1914 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Frank P. and Lula Grigsby Brown James. He served during World War II in the Army and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Joseph Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include: three granddaughters; Carol Johnson of AR; Christie James of Cincinnati, OH; and Beverly James of Lexington. He was predeceased by a son: Harry Scott James and a sister: Wilma James. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Monday, March 31st, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Gill Duffee with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Ralph Morris, Larry Short, Lonnie Harley, Lonnie Jenkins, Larry Taylor, Dan Murphy, Frank Trisler, Doug Greenburg, and Eddie Russell. Visitation will be Monday, from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to Charity of One's Choice.
