Obituary of George Weber Buchanan

George Weber Buchanan, 73, Cornishville Rd., Harrodsburg, husband of Sue Isham Buchanan, died Sunday at his home. Born in Lincoln Co., he was the son of the late George Walker and Louella Mae (Trisler) Buchanan. He was a retired farmer & trucker, US Army veteran, and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church where he served as deacon. He had also served on the Selective Service Board, Farm Bureau Board, and was a Constitution Square Dancer. Other survivors include: one daughter, Sherry Sue (Steve) Horn, Harrodsburg; two sons, George Perry (Rebecca) Buchanan and Cecil Edward Buchanan, both of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Margaret (McKinley Jr.) Anness and Janet (Jerry) Thacker, both of Harrodsburg, Nancy (Harvey) Baker, Lawrenceburg; one brother, William Irvin Buchanan, Harrrodsburg; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Wanda (Wallace) Lester and Anita Ransdell; one brother-in-law, Arthur B. (Betty) Isham; one Aunt, Louise Dean. Services 11 AM, Tues., at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Derek Baker. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, Harrodsburg, with military rites. Pallbearers are: George Brett, Brandon Thomas and Jonathon Edward Buchanan, John Paul Bailey, and Austin Steven and Logan Lydell Horn. Honorary bearers are Amanda Kay Bailey, Katie Sueanne Buchanan,Amanda Buchanan, Tonya Buchanan and Carolyn Bishop. Visit. after 5 PM, Monday, Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Pleasant Church or Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
