Obituary of Julia Francis Peavler

Julia Francis Peavler, age 102, Harrodsburg, widow of Floyd T. Peavler, died Thursday, June 17, 2010. Born January 7, 1908 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Annie Belle Matherly Bottom. She was the oldest member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and was the matriarch of five generations. Survivors include: a daughter: Frances Devine of Harrodsburg; one sister: Hazel Click of Springfield, Daughter-in-law: Emma Jean Peavler of Harrodsburg, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by a daughter: Dorothy Tyler and a son: Paul Peavler, grandchildren: Sherrell Bruce Devine and Robert Peavler and a great grandson: Vernon Wayne Devine, and seven siblings. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, June 21 at the Deep Creek Baptist Church by Scott Davis and Lewis Walter. Burial will be in the Deep Creek Cemetery. . Grandchildren: Larry Devine, David Devine, Verna Gorley, Paul Wayne Peavler, Steve Peavler, Shirlene Peavler, Joe Russell, Wayne Russell will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20 from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
