Rosalie Laura Dempsey, age 89, Harrodsburg, wife of Frederick G Dempsey, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY. Born October 14, 1920 in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late August and Jane Hanlon Esser. After her service during World War II in the U. S. Army, she devoted her life to being a loving mother and wife. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Other survivors include: three daughters, Laura (Bobby) Riddle of Midway, Linda (Jon) Dempsey Hall of Lexington, Debbie (Charlie) Edwards of Edinboro, PA; three sons, Larry (Terry) Dempsey of Longmont, CO, Terry (Diann) Dempsey of Grayson, GA, John A Dempsey of Lexington; grandchildren, J.P. Dempsey, David Dempsey, Jon Hall Jr., Charlie Edwards Jr., Sam Edwards, and Molly Edwards. She was predeceased by a sister: Elmajane Esser. A Funeral Mass will be conducted 9:00 AM, Tuesday, July 6 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, with military rites. Pallbearers are: Bobby Riddle, John Hall Sr., Charles Edwards, J.P. Dempsey, David Dempsey, Charlie Edwards Jr., and Sam Edwards. Visitation will be Monday, July 5 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
