Obituary of William Curtis Mobley

William Curtis Mobley, age 81, Williamsburg, husband of Helen Jean Beckum Mobley, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center, Corbin, KY. Born March 8, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Hollis C. and Gladys Perkins Mobley. He was a US Navy Veteran, a retired, self-employed lobster fisherman, and a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Islamorada in the Florida Keys, where he served as deacon and was active in the food ministry. Other survivors include: three daughters, Teresa Randle of Williamsburg, Sue Cox of Nicholasville, and Una (Billy) Jackson of TN; two sons, William Allen (Carol) Mobley of Lawrenceburg, and Donnie (Barbara) Mobley, Harrodsburg; one sister, Roxie Jackson of Harrodsburg; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Mobley. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Friday, February 4, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Jason Fields, Robert Jacobs, William Randle, William Mobley, Corky Jacobs, Nick Jackson, Carroll Perkins, Jerry Huffman, and Jim McGlone. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to Friends for Families, 235 N. Second St., Williamsburg, KY 40769.
