Jack Bailey, 72, Harrodsburg, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg. Born December 8, 1938 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late William L. and Ressie (Bottom) Bailey. He was director of the Harrodstown Singers, he and Jesta Belle Matherly operated an Art Gallery for several years. Jack graduated from Campbellsville College and received his Master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He was an entertainer, artist and taught at Northern Kentucky Community College. As a musician, Jack traveled extensively, but, once described the entertainer’s life as a lonely one. He authored several books and in 2008 he wrote for the Mercer Magazine Survivors include: Several Cousins, including: Gloria Davis, Hettie Logue, Paula B. Freeman and Imogene Freeman. Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, starting at noon and leading up to the Funeral service at 3 PM, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by John Westerfield.
