Obituary of William Ralph "Paps" Holliday

William Ralph "Paps" Holliday, age 87, 851 S. College St., Harrodsburg, widower of Wilma Gabhart Holliday, died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born July 14, 1924 in Washington Co., KY, he was the son of the late B. D. and Rae Ellen (Royalty) Holliday. He was a retired Spears Construction supervisor, a gunsmith, a charter member of the Magnolia Street Christian Church, and was a member of the NRA. Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Ellen Meehan of Atlanta, GA, and Sherrow (Marion "Bum") Williams of Smithville, MO; three sons, William Ray (Bonnie) Holliday of Versailles, MO, Robert "Bobby" (Linda) Holliday of Harrodsburg, and Danny (Tammy) Holliday of Harrodsburg; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, September 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Caleb Penwell with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers are: Lee & Adam Hart, Wayne Holliday, Patrick Morgan, Dion Long, Kenneth Goodlett, Hobert Cheatham & Ryan Cook. Honorary pallbearers are: Paul Votaw, Charlie Hensley, Bud Isham, L. D. Nickles, Ralph Phillips, Mark Hagen and Donny Corn. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27 from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Memorial contributions may be sent to Heritage Hospice, P.O. Box 1213, Danville, KY 40422.
