Obituary of Marvin A. Claunch

Marvin A. Claunch, 85, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Shirley June Norton, died Sunday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born February 6,1931, to the late John D. and the late Flossie (Durr) Claunch. Marvin served in the Army, during Korean War. He worked for the Kentucky State Hospital, the Kentucky Revenue Department and was a farmer. He was a member of the Benton Baptist Church and attended Fellowship Baptist, he was also a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the American Legion. Marvin is survived by: his wife: Shirley June (Norton) Claunch, two daughters: Linda (Wayne) Boyd and Kim (Jeff) Poole of Mercer County, and one son: Marvin "Marty" Claunch of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren, Jason Boyd, Caleb Poole and Kari Poole; four great grandchildren; a brother, J.B. (Jean) Claunch of Mercer County. He was preceded in death by a Son; Jeffrey Allen Claunch, two brothers, Raymond and Earl Claunch, three half brothers, Henry B, Seymour, & Boehman Claunch, and five half sisters, Icie Peavler, Cordie Durr , Martha Click, Mae Claunch and Dee Claunch. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: Kevin Claunch, Gerald Claunch, Jason Boyd, Caleb Poole, Wayne Boyd and Jeff Poole. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Hilary Claypool and James Harley. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
