Obituary of Clyde Sims Jr.

Clyde Sims Jr., 74, Harrodsburg, husband of Brenda Lee Phillips, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg. Born October 3,1942, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Clyde Sr. and Gladys Graham Sims. He was a Farmer and worked in the mixing department at Corning Glass. He was also a member of the Cornishville Christian Church. Clyde served on the Mercer County School board for several years and was the chairman of the board for some time. Survivors other than his wife: Three daughters: Anna Marie (Bill) Robinson, Peggy (Phillip) Combs and Meredith Sims, all of Harrodsburg. One son: Brian Scott (Tina) Sims and one sister: Margaret Dugan, both of Harrodsburg. 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, from 5-8 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Pallbearers will be: Brian Sims, Jason Vaughn, Major Robinson, Hunter Robinson, Austin Vaughn, Matthew Sims and Russell Sims. Honorary Bearers: Brayden Sims, Kelly Bugg, Eugene McHolan, Kenny Stratton, McKinley Stratton, Brennan Sexton, Mike Phillips, William Hungate and Jennifer Osbourn. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. The family request memorial donations be sent to Cornishville Christian Cemetery.
