Obituary of Charles Thomas Hensley

Charles Thomas “Charlie” Hensley, 78, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Genevieve McFerron Hensley, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born September 28, 1944, in Kenton County, KY, he was the son of the late John Lester and Edna (Butts) Hensley. He was a retired Gunsmith and had owned and operated Hensley Gun Store for several years. Charlie was also a member of Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church, where he served as a Head Counselor, and was a member of the American Gunsmith Association Other survivors include: one daughter, Kathy Reed of TX; two sons, Wayne Taylor Jr. of Mercer Co., KY and Timmy (Carol Lee Shifflett) Taylor of Mercer Co., KY; one sister, Janet Votaw of Harrodsburg, KY; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Christopher Hensley. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Larry Holbrook. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, KY. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the hour of service Monday, Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Charles and William McFerron, Jay Miller, Bill Votaw, Ronnie Pulliam, and Scottie Wray.
