Peggy Gorham, 86, widow of Charles F. Gorham, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at The Willows in Harrodsburg. Born January 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John B. (JB) Hurst and Helen (Moreland) Richardson. Peggy was retired from the Mercer County School System having previously worked at Mercer County High School as a bookkeeper and had also worked at Mercer Elementary, Salvisa Elementary and McAfee Elementary Schools during her career. She was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and attended Harrodsburg Vocational School to further her education in bookkeeping and accounting. During her early years, she grew up in the Shakertown area of Mercer County. She was a member of Salvisa Baptist Church and was an active supporter of the various activities of her family in the Mercer County and Salvisa communities. She loved to fish, grow vegetables in the garden, entertain family and friends while being a homemaker Survivors include her son, Robert (Deborah) Gorham of Fort Mill, SC and two grandchildren, Jennifer Pittman of Harrodsburg and Megan Gorham of Frankfort; three great grandchildren (Alyssa, Paisley, and Liam). She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gorham and son, David (Bucky) Gorham. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18th, from 6 pm – 7 pm followed by funeral services at 7 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. David Green. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be directed to Salvisa Community Church, P. O. Box 126, Salvisa, KY 40371.
