Delbert "Peanut" Harlow, age 78, Salvisa, husband of Jean Beasley Harlow, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.Born April 13, 1931 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late John and Cora (Brown) Harlow and was raised by Madge and Hobert Brown. He was married to Jean Beasley. He served in the Air Force. He was a retired parts manager for John Deere of Harrodsburg and Lancaster, and a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church. Peanut was also a Kentucky Colonel, Kentucky Admiral and a former Boy Scout.Survivors include: his wife: Jean Beasley Harlow, and a son: Rodney (Barbara) Harlow of Harrodsburg, KY; three sisters: Beatrice Hardin of Harrodsburg, KY, Georgia Holley of Akron, OH and Foster sister, Loraine Cave of Palomar, IN a foster brother, Steven Brown of Harrodsburg, KY. He was predeceased by two sisters, Victoria Fowler, Pocahontas Harlow and a foster sister, Elizabeth Hardy.Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Larry Koch, Chris Brown, John Hockersmith and Jason Clark. Burial with military honors will be in the Kirkwood Cemetery, Salvisa.Pallbearers are: Jack Garriott, Steve Cummins, Bruce Muchaly, Charles Gorham, Doug Brown and Steve Brown. Honorary Bearers are: Raymond Freeman, John Alvin Goodlett, John Sims, John Thomas Sims, Jeremy Sims, Steve Cosby, Ronnie Broce and Winston Preston.Visitation will be Sunday, December 27 from 5 - 8 PM and Monday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.Memorial contributions may be sent to Salvisa Baptist Church, P.O. Box, Salvisa, KY 40372.
