Obituary of Mildred Geurin

Mrs. Mildred L. Geurin, age 97, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. She was born January 7,1913 in Calloway Co. KY, to the late Walter & Louiza Ann (Sellars) Tucker. She married Rudolph Geurin on Oct. 31,1931 and he preceded her in death as well as her son, Rev. Jack Geurin; and six sisters, Audrey Andrews, Mamie Dyer, Lois Outland, Rexie Tucker, Olene Tucker, and Evelyn Alexander. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, and had been a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church in Murray for over 50 years. She was a homemaker, employed in food services at Faxon School, and assisted with the family farm. She is survived by her daughter in law, Mary Geurin; three grandchildren, David Geurin (Lori), Jackie Bishop (Jeremiah), and Jeri Stein (Mark); one sister in law, Mary Belle Brantley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday at the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Murray with Rev. Thurmon Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. The Ransdell Funeral Chapel assisted with local arrangements. Friends may call from 6 PM to 8 PM Thursday at the York Funeral Home and after 12 Noon Friday at the church.
